like teething

Bran is showing all of the signs of teething, but I think it is a little early yet to be getting teeth.

You can’t tell him that though, he will gnaw on anything. Nothing is safe and our knuckles are his favourite.

We will also be putting up the big cot this weekend because he continuously rolls and gets stuck sideways in his current one.

our trip to the zoo

We went away to the Sunshine Coast with the rest of my family for my nephew’s 2nd Brithday.

Oh and it was also fathers day, Happy Fa de day daddy!

On one of the days there we went to Australia Zoo and overall had a great time. The animals were great and the enclosures and exhibits were really well looked after. The food was surprisingly good too. The only thing that sucked was the croc show at the crocosseum but apart from that the kids had a good day.

Beca tried to “feed” the elephants but no matter how many times she did it, it was always “throw the food at” the elephants.

She also got to touch a baby croc and sit on a daddy croc!

but poor Bran just got to be eaten by the daddy croc!!!

roll over, roll over

Brandon has started rolling over this week. It is really funny to watch. He does a big back arch, flips his legs over, face plants into the floor and gets his arm stuck underneath.

It takes a while for him to free his arm but he does get it out eventually.

He doesn’t roll over all the time, sometimes he just flips back and forth. But he is never in the same spot he is left anymore.

ekka day

The Brisbane show or EKKA is on at the moment. Wednesday was the show day public holiday; so of course we didn’t go and went to Sea World instead.

We had a really good time and it was quite busy. I expect that everyone else had the same idea we did..

Beca really surprised us and was happy to go on all of the kiddy rides. She really enjoyed the dolphin show and was pretty impressed when they jumped out of the water and then did a big SPLASH!  We stayed there most of the day and poor beca was asleep in the car before we got to the end of Seaworld Dr.

Unfortunately Bran was unsettled most of the day, but we managed to get him off to sleep a few times in his sling.  He loved the fishys.  They have a spectacular aquarium with underwater viewing, which I think is just as good as the Sydney aquarium.  You can also snorkel in it which would be awesome.

Sometimes I see her and have to remember that she is still our baby girl.

But then she will try and have a tea party with Ruckus.

And bran and me have taken to having an afternoon nap while beca has some quiet time. It is my favourite part of the day.

Curtis’s Birthday

I forgot to post the pictures of Curtis’s 2nd Birthday which was on 16 Jun. We had a great time and Beca had way too many marshmallows.

This was Brans first party and the first time that he wore jeans.

We also got some good photos of the family with the new kids.

been a long time

It has been ages since I have updated this but now I know that Dad and Di are online again I thought I better get on top of it.

I have taken lots of photos of the kids but we really haven’t done much in the past month.

We found this great painting shirt in a bag left in our garage and her new dressing gown is a new favourite item of clothing.

Brandon is smiling and babbling lots and loves being the center of attention. He is a bit of a flirt and will give away a smile to anyone that chats to him.

Beca still goes to kindy gym each week and she has started to make some new friends. She is still a little shy but will go off and play with the other kids (without dragging me along) occasionally. The highlight of her day at gym is jumping on the trampoline. Other kids last about 5 minutes but she keeps bouncing until it is time to go home.

We also went to the Brisbane Museum a couple of weeks ago. Beca loved seeing the big dinosaurs. Brandon wasn’t all that fussed and spent most of his time in the sling – or the baby bag as Beca calls it.

I made Bran a hat for when we go to Melbourne next week.  And then Beca had to have one too.

long weekend pt 2

Here are some photos that we took of Brandon over the weekend too so he didn’t feel left out. He didn’t get to play on the swings but we think he had fun anyway having some visitors.

june long weekend

My family came up on Sunday last weekend for the day. We had a great time and the kids play quite well together.

Beca is quite possessive and is totally in charge of what Owen plays with. I am pretty sure that he was only able to play with the guitar as Beca was having a nap.

They both love being outside.  They had heaps of fun playing on the swing together, but Owen keeps hitting his head on the post.   Chasing bubbles was also high on their list of good things to do.
